PRIVATE LESSONS

About Private Lessons

Lessons are a great benefit to competitive fencers as well as beginners.
At Foothills, we offer private lessons tailored to each individual fencers needs and goals. Lessons are an essential part of a competitive fencers training routine.

Lessons are also a great option for those whose schedules won’t allow them to attend a group beginner class.

We offer private lessons in packages of 30 minute sessions as well as semi-private packages.

Frequently Asked Questions

Most frequent questions and answers

What should fencers wear?

Fencers should wear long pants, athletic shoes, and a t-shirt. Each fencer will be fitted with a fencing jacket, glove, mask, and chest protector for females.

Can I watch class?

Absolutely! Your are welcome to stay in our sitting area and watch your child fence. We encourage those watching to ask questions and learn more about what their fencer is doing.

Do I need to purchase equipment?

No, it is not necessary to purchase equipment. You are welcome to purchase gear, but rental equipment is included in the class fee for beginner fencers. Each fencers’ gear is assigned to them, so that it is not shared with another student unless it has been thoroughly cleaned in between.

Is fencing a competitive sport?

Yes! Foothills students travel throughout the southeast and nationally to compete on the highest levels. Not only does Foothills host competitive events, but there is also a thriving competitive scene locally, regionally, and nationally.

Can I take a semi-private lesson?
